Are you an experienced Management Accountant seeking a settled opportunity in an established & prestigious organisation?

Reed Accountancy in Oxford are pleased to be once again partnering with a historic part of the Oxford University to help source a Management Accountant to join their close knit yet busy finance function. The role offers a competitive salary, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), excellent enhanced university pension, some flexible working (more on an ad hoc basis at this point), free staff meals (onsite) and addition benefits as well as ownership and development within the role.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Production of monthly management accounts and budget holder reporting in line with company deadlines.
  • Production of balance sheet and review of all balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of Fixed Assets ledger and reconciliation to nominal ledger on monthly basis.
  • Assistance with production of statutory accounts and returns.
  • Assistance with managing the annual audit and liaison with auditors.
  • Assistance with cash flow management and reporting.
  • Prepare VAT returns, VAT annual adjustment reporting and any capital goods scheme adjustments required. 
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the Accounts Office.
  • Oversee and back-up operation of payroll.
  • Deal with ad hoc queries from other departments and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an accomplished Management Accountant - with excellent business partnering skills, capable of communicating and reporting to a variety of stakeholders within the organisation. Ideally, you will be part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or QBE, with extensive experience. You will be able to fit into a busy, yet small finance function, and be keen to find a role with ownership. On occasion, you will have to support the Accounts Assistants - so an individual who is not afraid to get "hands on" is a must. Finally, you will have excellent Excel skills and ideally have worked on a number of accounting systems and packages.
