Our client is seeking a Systems Accountant to enhance and integrate its cloud-based finance system, driving efficiency and providing valuable insights for the organisation. This pivotal role within a small finance team combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including deputising for the Financial Controller.

Our client is a well-established institution within the education sector. It is a medium-sized organisation, renowned for its high standards of education and commitment towards continuous improvement, located in the heart of Oxford.

Description

  • Develop reporting and system processes, including automated management accounts, dashboards, and investment reports.
  • Lead annual budget preparation, long-term financial forecasting, and project appraisals.
  • Support financial year-end processes, reconcile accounts, and assist in producing statutory accounts.
  • Manage endowment and investment reporting, including monthly valuations and yield analysis.
  • Provide training to staff and support other finance team areas during absences.

Profile

  • Qualified (CIMA/ACCA) with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Expertise in implementing cloud-based finance systems and integrating data.
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities, with experience in charity accounting and VAT (partial exemption).
  • Hands-on, solutions-focused self-starter with a track record in system development.
