We are seeking a Project Design Engineer to join our team in Oxfordshire. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and detailing monorail systems, creating detailed drawings, and managing project deliverables within budget and timelines. You will work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure successful project execution, occasionally liaising with clients and conducting site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and detail monorail systems, including General Arrangement drawings, building modifications, structural steel frames, sorting platforms, and safety measures.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant BS EN ISO standards.
  • Create and update shared 3D models and work within a collaborative project environment.
  • Participate in contract handover meetings, documenting key points and identifying risks or issues related to the design process.
  • Work closely with project managers to identify key deliverables, potential risks, and installation considerations, providing design solutions where necessary.
  • Liaise with structural engineers for approvals and with suppliers for equipment specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to verify measurements and ensure design feasibility.
  • Provide design support to installation teams, including answering queries, troubleshooting, and raising site requests in a timely manner.
  • Prepare installation documentation and assist with operational risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in structural steel detailing and design, with a focus on monorail systems or similar projects.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling software and understanding of BS EN ISO standards.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external clients.
  • Experience managing multiple project deliverables and maintaining design documentation.
