Senior Analytical Scientist

Temporary contract (6 months minimum)

Hours - 37.5 hours per week

SRG is working with a specialist researcher in the biotech sector who are hiring for a new senior analytical scientist. Initially the job would just be for a 6-month period but has a good chance of going permanent. The role would suit someone with a strong method development background with LC-MS and HPLC, ideally with small molecules. Applications are encouraged from people who have recently finished a PhD or have equivalent industry experience.

Role Description

  • Analytical method development with LC-MS for small molecules
  • Communicating and collaborating with a team of chemists and biologists to generate analytical data
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to health and safety guidelines
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Building an external network and collaborating with CRO's to meet project deadlines

Requirements

  • PhD in analytical chemistry or equivalent industry experience in an analytical laboratory
  • Recent experience in method development with chromatographic techniques such as LC-MS and HPLC.
  • An understanding of maintaining and troubleshooting analytical equipment would be advantageous
  • Able to commute to the Oxford area, preferably by car as the site can be difficult to get to
  • Full right to work in the UK
