We have partnered with an emerging biotech company in Oxford developing next-generation CAR-T and TCR-based therapies to overcome current limitations in immunotherapy. Their platform aims to enhance the sensitivity and specificity of engineered cells to high-value targets, advancing innovative treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases.

The company is seeking a skilled Senior Scientist to work on the bench, contributing to the development and optimization of novel CAR-T and TCR platforms. The successful candidate will be involved in experimental design, execution, and data interpretation, collaborating closely with other scientists to drive projects from concept to preclinical development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct bench-based research focused on developing and optimizing CAR-T and TCR platforms.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to enhance efficacy, specificity, and safety of engineered cells.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to advance research projects.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate experimental records.
  • Present findings and updates to the research team and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current with relevant scientific literature and technological advancements.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in CAR-T / TCR research, preferably within an industry or translational research setting.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise in cell-based assays, flow cytometry, gene editing, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Motivation to contribute to high-impact research in the field of immunotherapy.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with viral vector systems (e.g., lentiviral or retroviral).
  • Familiarity with in vivo models or translational studies.
  • Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is a plus.
