Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to appoint a Chef de Partie to prepare high-quality meals and fine dining for events and private bookings, as well as supervising junior staff.

About the role

The kitchen team is a small friendly team and produces excellent food, from only fresh products and seeks local produce wherever possible.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week, five out of seven days (mostly straight shifts). The Department operates for 50 weeks of the year and usually closes over the Christmas and New Year period.

About you

The Department for Continuing Education provides a wide variety of meals and dining for both students and external clients across its sites and provides an excellent opportunity to grow your culinary skills.

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. You will also have good culinary skills, good communication skills (both written and verbal), good IT literacy skills (including MS Excel and Word), flexibility and adaptability in your approach to work, and an awareness of health and safety standards and requirements.

Whilst the role is a grade 4 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at grade 3 (£25,748- £26,638 per annum) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly.
