Business Development Manager - Composites/Aerospace (Hybrid)
Following continued growth across a range of industries for the supply of their specialist materials and release agents for use in composites manufacturing, we are seeking a NEW Business Development/Technical Sales Manager to specifically target further growth within the aerospace, defence and power generation sectors as well as explore other opportunities in other industries.
Working from a hybrid position in England, the Business Development Manager will 'go to market' and target these sectors on a consultative, solution sales basis. Supported by your existing knowledge of these sectors, this role will work closely within these markets to develop longer-term relationship as well as deliver strategic success.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will have the following job responsibilities:
- Manage and expand strategic sales activities within the UK market, focusing on composites in industry.
- Promote advanced solutions tailored for aerospace, defence and power generation sectors - as well as others as encountered.
- Cultivate new business growth opportunities while maintaining relationships with key accounts.
- Lead negotiations for contracts, pricing strategies and terms of agreements.
- Provide market insights to contribute to strategic decision-making processes within the company.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including senior management, technical, R&D, and back-office departments.
- Represent the company at sector specific trade fairs and events, actively participating in marketing initiatives and growth strategies.
Education:
Expected to have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar in a related technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering).
Industry-Specific Experience:
- Experience in Sales and Business Development, typically 5+ years, especially in commercialisation of ancillary/auxiliary/consumable materials primarily from within the aerospace and defence sectors
- Have a background in Key Account Management, building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients.
- Industry expertise in the specific sectors (e.g., composites, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or machinery) preferably, helicopters, and other specific programs seen with GKN, BOEING, LOCKHEED MARTIN, AIRBUS, SIEMENS and similar.
Technical Knowledge:
- Be able to understand and discuss the Product or Service being sold, including its technical specifications, advantages, and applications.
- Be able to translate technical features into business benefits for customers.
- Have familiarity with industry standards and regulations that apply to the product.
Sales and Negotiation Skills:
- Proven ability in contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and closing deals.
- Have a strategic approach and be able to support the senior management team with sales and business development planning.
- Have business development skills, including lead generation, prospecting, and customer acquisition.
