Danny Sullivan Group are searching for a motivated Project Manager to apply their strong background of electrical/power work and substations to their next role.
The ideal candidate for this role would have a track record of working and delivering complex projects, focusing on high voltage substations, electrical infrastructure and civil works. The role is for a large-scale electrical framework covering projects between Slough and Swindon and based out of an office in Oxford.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical and substation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Oversee contract obligations, managing NEC or similar contracts, and ensuring compliance with legal and commercial terms.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders. Build and maintain positive working relationships to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including safety, budget, timeline, and environmental factors, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
- Coordinate with design teams and contractors to ensure that the electrical and substation design meets project requirements and is ready for construction.
- Manage the project budget, controlling costs, tracking expenditures, and forecasting financial performance.
- Ensure all project work adheres to quality standards and is completed to the specifications outlined in the contract.
- Manage site inspections and audits as required.
- Promote a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM and site-specific HSE requirements.
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Prepare and present regular project updates, including progress reports, cost control updates, and risk assessments to senior management and clients.
- Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring they align with project requirements and timelines.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing construction projects, particularly in electrical and substation works (132kV, 33kV, 11kV, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience working on contract-based projects, ideally under NEC or FIDIC contract frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, high-voltage equipment, and substation construction.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2, or equivalent certification (desirable).
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent health and safety certifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience working in a contract/project-based environment.
