Based in either London, Oxford or Cambridge, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development specialist to join a leading national property firm who specialise in the UK’s most pioneering sectors including science and technology, sustainability and modern living solutions.

You will be joining the first multi-disciplinary property consultancy in the UK to achieve B Corp certification and a firm who are dedicated to delivering sustainable and innovative property advice nationwide. The firm’s heritage reflects their commitment to innovation. As the industry evolves through new technology, climate change and shifting client demands, the firm is expanding their service lines and growing into new markets. With decades of experience as the UK’s leading adviser in science and technology, real estate and renewables, the firm have shaped these vital property sectors and established a strong presence in needs-based asset classes, such as operational living. Working alongside the Group Head of BD & Client Experience, the Divisional Managing Partners and interacting with team Business Development Managers, you will play a key role in developing and implementing the firm’s group strategy, ensuring business plans are implemented and driven forwards and working actively with marketing specialists within the team to support the delivery of activity which supports the business plan. The role holder will be the first point of contact for all business development activities, providing direction, advice and coaching to the fee earners on all aspects of BD. Inputting into the ongoing development of the bid management process and the delivery of supporting materials will be a key area of focus. This will involve the production and submission of divisional bid and tender documents in line with the brand, tracking and measuring bid success and continually working to improve win rates, acting as project manager on large-scale pitches and coaching senior fee-earners on the delivery of their presentations. From a CRM perspective, the Business Development Manager will support the process for selecting target clients and tracking them across the business, including rolling out targeting initiatives for core areas and identifying opportunities for business development locally. You will also be required to support the implementation of the firm’s CRM system and encourage cross-selling between all areas of the firm. In addition, the successful applicant will play an active role in the firm’s internal training programme designed to upskill the business in winning work and BD skills.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree standard or equivalent and possess a proven background in business development to include past success developing new business opportunities, business plans and strategies. With strong planning and organisational skills, the Business Development Manager must have previous experience working in a professional services environment and in building and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues and external clients at all levels. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders, will also be key to success in this varied and challenging role.
