Job Title:Assistant Estimator

Your Responsibilities:
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare comprehensive and differing forms of tenders, budgets, cost estimates, etc. for construction projects.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to determine material and labour costs for each project.
- Utilise estimating software and tools to generate detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractor and suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms to ensure competitive bids.
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals in a timely manner ensuring all required information is included.
- Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals to clients and participate in negotiations as needed.
Required Skills:
- Level 5 Construction Management // Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Surveying or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2 years' experiencein construction estimating, preferably with a principal contractor.
- IT literate (Microsoft, construction estimating software)
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, design teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes and contracts (particularly the JCT Suite).
