Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Manager to oversee and manage all contractual aspects of our construction projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, schools, colleges, scientific facilities, and listed buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract administration, negotiation, and compliance within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Administration: Manage and oversee all contractual documentation from project inception to completion, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Sector-Specific Management: Handle contracts for projects in residential, commercial, schools, colleges, scientific facilities, and listed buildings, understanding the unique requirements and regulations for each sector.
  • Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks to protect the company's interests.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure contractual obligations are met and project milestones are achieved.
  • Compliance: Ensure all contracts adhere to relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Dispute Resolution: Address and resolve any contractual disputes or issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on contract status, progress, and any potential issues to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract law and construction industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with contracts in residential, commercial, educational, scientific, and heritage-listed projects is highly desirable.
