Associate Scientist

We are working with a leading Biotechnology company in the field of oncolytic viral therapies. Their lead program has entered into the clinic with the ambition of providing better outcomes for patients with ovarian cancer. They have an immediate opportunity for an Associate Scientist to join their multidisciplinary and dynamic team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting a team of scientists with experiments (e.g. flow cytometry, ELISA, QPCR etc);
  • Maintenance of cancer cell cultures, and processing of primary tissue and blood samples, including the establishment and maintenance of quality sample archiving systems;
  • Performance of various assays for virus quality control and characterisation (training provided as required);
  • Experimental planning and taking ownership of tasks;
  • To assist with general laboratory/instrument maintenance.

Job Requirement:

Required skills and experience include:

  • A BSc and/or MSc degree in a relevant discipline (such as Biomedical Science, Virology, Cancer Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology);
  • Experience working in a lab environment;
  • Experience with tissue culture (cancer cell lines and/or primary cells);
  • Basic molecular biology and/or biochemical techniques;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with good record keeping skills.
