Our client, a leading manufacturing client based in Oxford, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineerto join the business on a permanent basis. This recruitment drive is due to continued business growth needing additional staff to manage the expanding workload.
The successful candidates will be provide engineering design and support functions in relation to Mechanical product applications under the instruction of more senior engineers. This will range from creation of BOMS, design of new products, troubleshooting with production and aiding with product test.
Hours - Mon - Friday 37.5 hours ( 2 days remote working available)
The Ideal candidate will be minimum Degree Qualified within a Mechanical Engineeringdiscipline with a demonstrable background in Mechanical design works.
Experience with Valves/ Pumps/ Pressure Vessels/ Hydraulics would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create product models and drawings in SolidWorks includng allapplying GPS tolerancing.
- BOM Creation
- Write and review technical documents, including build procedures and design reports.
- FEA and CFD analysis of products
- Conduct experimental and validation testing.
- Enhance manufacturing and assembly processes for new and existing products.
Technical Competencies
Assembly methods and maintenance.
Completing and checking designs and documentation.
Tolerancing, limits and fits.
Drawing and document control systems.
hydraulics including sealing systems, e.g. O-rings, seals, hydraulic fittings, etc.
Inspection, testing and certification requirements.
Qualifications/ Skills
- Degree Qualified in Mechanical Engineering related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience working within a Mechanical Design role.
- Experienced in use of Solidworks
- Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques includingwelding, heat treatment, painting, machining, cutting, folding and NDT requirements.
