A local Primary school based in Oxford is recruiting for an Experienced Teaching Assistant, to have 2 years minimum experience on a 1:1 basis with children aged 5 - 11 years old. This Teaching Assistant role is focusing on supporting children with SEN attending this mainstream Primary. Successful Teaching Assistant (s) will be paired with Oxford students on EHCPs, the school wants to get your preference on the Key stage you wish to support.

£16,282.50 - £17,282.50 - pro-rata (£83.50 - £90 per day)

Monday - Friday 08:30am - 03:15pm (term time only) - no weekends

Education and training role

The Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Support students with ASC, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Create and encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be able to adapt teaching styles, to suit the individual student. Essential when in 1:1 settings.
  • Collaborate with the Oxford teachers, therapists, and other specialists to provide holistic support.
  • Responsible to monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
  • Be a reliable member of the Teaching Assistant team to offer emotional and behavioural support to the Oxfordshire students when required.

Teaching Assistant Qualification:

  • NVQ Level 3 Childcare or equivalent (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (preferred)
  • GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 (required)
  • UK Driving licence (preferred)
