The role involves supporting various year groups from Year 1 to Year 6, encompassing the KS1/KS2 national curriculum. Ideally, a candidate would have prior knowledge or experience, which could include parenting experience or previous work as a TA/LSA roles.
Your duties in the role:
- Recording and reporting the KS1/KS2 pupil's progress to the teacher.
- Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with the Oxford Primary pupils to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with higher needs, this could be from challenging behaviour needing a break, ADHD, Autism or Dyslexia requiring more unique approaches to the main classroom (eg. next and now boards)
- Contribute to providing high quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities and experiences through supporting the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
- Respond to the varying and changing needs of the Oxford based school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
- Provide a safe learning environment for the KS1/KS2 children. Holding a high standard of Safeguarding knowledge, willing to undergo regular training as provided.
