The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Oxfordshire.. You will be responsible for maintaining professional competence through continuous development and training, while also mentoring and coaching junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Engineering Principal/Associate, providing regular progress updates.
Deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project outcomes.
Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
Engage in design work, applying technical expertise to project schemes.
Conduct feasibility studies as required.
Meet with clients to establish project briefs and budget considerations, with support from senior engineers.
Develop detailed specifications and drawings in line with client requirements.
Review tenders, prepare reports, and make recommendations, with guidance from senior engineers.
Manage site works from initiation to completion.
Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Inspect existing installations and provide condition reports.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Proficiency in Amtech (Electrical) or IES (Mechanical) software.
Experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
Familiarity with relevant legislation, industry codes of practice, and building regulations.
Degree/Master's degree in Engineering.
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and/or The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or equivalent.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
Security Clearance Requirements:
This role may require clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), Counter Terrorist Check (CTC), Security Check (SC), or Developed Vetting (DV).
