Commercial Solar Electrician - Maintenance

Alecto are partnering with a multi award winning renewable engineer company in the South, who are currently looking to add to their team of technicians due to a period of growth and expansion.

As Commercial Electrician you will carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of Commercial Solar PV equipment across a portfolio of client sites throughout the South, including Oxford, Luton, Stevenage, London and home counties.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspections and repairs on Solar PV and other electrical system including Solar Carports, Battery Storage Systems and EV charging stations
  • Understand and work to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Be able to work 'on roof' to inspect and work on Solar PV arrays
  • Understand the dangers of working with Solar PV (DC power and principles)
  • Good electrical knowledge of Solar PV systems to be able to determine faults and issues and fix where possible
  • Work at height appreciation and safety knowledge
  • Working with 3-phase equipment
  • Compile reports from sites visited and follow up with technical advice on recommendations
  • Working across the South Including Oxford, Luton, London and Home Counties, with occasional travel further a field requiring overnight stays.

Requirements:

Proven experience of working with Commercial Solar PV, Solar Carports, Battery Storage or EV Charging are preferred. However, we will also consider experienced commercial and industrial electricians with sound knowledge of commercial or industrial systems including 3 phase or HV/LV who are looking to move into the Commercial Solar sector.

Full training can be provided on Solar PV systems through time spent with a lead engineer and industry specific training. However, the following qualifications are essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical installation or Maintenance City & Guilds 236,
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 Testing & inspection(desirable)
  • Full clean driving licence
  • JIB Gold Card
