Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for control valves, actuation, and instrumentation? We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation and Actuation Engineer to join a dynamic team. In this crucial role, you will provide technical expertise and support for valve applications, contributing to the development and improvement of industry-leading products.

Position Summary:

As an Instrumentation and Actuation Engineer, you will play a key role in offering guidance to the engineering team and the wider company. You will take ownership of designated tasks, ensuring high-level technical support and the successful integration of instrumentation and actuation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Bid Support: Provide expert technical bid support, leveraging your knowledge in instrumentation.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the company’s go-to expert on instrumentation and actuation, addressing common site issues and understanding competitors’ offerings.
  • Schematic Development: Develop and maintain schematics and associated databases to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Product Development: Contribute to the development and introduction of new in-house actuators as outlined in the new product roadmap.
  • BOM Creation: Compile and maintain instrumentation and bracketry tools to support Bill of Materials (BOM) creation.
  • Design Improvements: Continuously improve instrumentation kit designs and drawing office tool kits by applying lessons learned.
  • Customer Specification Compliance: Ensure valve assemblies meet customer specifications and deliver acceptable performance.
  • Production Support: Provide support to production operations, including setup and problem-solving as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with third-party collaborators on development projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the control valve industry or a similar field, demonstrating a proven track record of technical advancement.
  • Excellent knowledge of control valves, actuation, and instrumentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of pneumatic systems and performance requirements for control valves.
  • Proficiency with CAD packages such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • High level of attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Systematic approach to tasks and problems.
  • Effective and timely analytical skills.
