Senior Building Physics/Sustainability Consultant

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior Building Physics/Sustainability Consultant to join their nationwide Sustainability Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a genuine desire to learn, grow, and develop a long-term career within a renowned multi-discipline consultancy.

The successful candidate will join a team providing a variety of sustainability services to client organizations, external consultant teams, contractors, and internal multi-disciplinary project teams. You will oversee developing, managing, and delivering building performance strategies from project inception to handover for both individual buildings and property portfolios.

This role specializes in building performance appraisals (energy, carbon, and comfort) and digital modeling using IESve and its associated modules. The role involves working across multiple sectors, including education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, leisure, and more.

As a senior member of the team, you will lead the development of technical workstreams related to energy, carbon emissions, and comfort assessments for existing and new buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct and deliver building performance appraisals, focusing on energy, carbon, and comfort.
Develop digital models and bespoke assessment tools.
Prepare concise technical notes, briefing documents, and detailed reports.
Support project stakeholders with sustainability-related issues.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective integration of building performance strategies.
Contribute to the exploration and development of bespoke tools and scripts using platforms like Rhino, Grasshopper, and related plugins.
Skills and Experience Required:

Proficiency in IESve software, with expertise in the ApacheHVAC module preferred.
Strong technical reporting and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Understanding of how building physics integrates with UK Building Regulations (Part L and Part O), planning policies, and BREEAM requirements.
Experience in developing digital workflows using Rhino, Grasshopper, Ladybug, Honeybee, or similar platforms is advantageous.
