We are recruiting a Finance Manager on a part-time (three days per week) basis. This offers the opportunity to take ownership of financial management, ensuring best practice and providing key support to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the financial planning and budgeting process, working with senior leadership to optimise resources.
  • Overseeing financial reporting and monitoring, ensuring accurate reconciliations, payroll checks, and management accounts.
  • Supporting deficit recovery efforts and enhancing finance processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Managing finance staff across multiple sites, offering leadership and development support.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for audits, compliance, and financial policy implementation.

Paying £45,000 to £50,000 FTE. This role is based across two sites, with a hybrid working arrangement and a supportive, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), however AAT Level 4 qualified candidates with education experience will be considered.
  • Ideally have experience in the local authority or education sector, ideally within a Multi-Academy Trust, or have trained in practice.
  • Possess strong management accounting skills, with experience overseeing budgets and producing financial reports.
  • Have experience managing or supervising finance staff.
  • Be proficient in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formulae.
  • Be an articulate communicator, comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
