The role of an Extinguisher Engineer:As a Fire Extinguisher Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and installation of fire extinguishers and related fire safety equipment at various commercial, industrial, and residential properties. You will ensure that all systems are compliant with the latest fire safety regulations and are working efficiently to protect people and property in the event of a fire. Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, maintain, and install fire extinguishers across various sites, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (BS 5306, etc.).
  • Conduct thorough inspections of fire extinguishers, identifying any faults or issues and carrying out necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on the correct use, maintenance, and placement of fire extinguishers.
  • Complete all relevant documentation, including service reports, certifications, and compliance checks.
  • Assist with the installation of new fire extinguisher systems, including selecting appropriate extinguishers for different environments.
  • Keep up-to-date with fire safety regulations, industry trends, and new products.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent service and ensuring their fire safety needs are met.
  • Manage your work schedule to ensure timely completion of appointments and services.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the fire extinguisher servicing industry or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Knowledge of relevant fire safety standards and regulations (BS 5306, etc.).
  • A strong understanding of fire extinguisher types, uses, and maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Full UK driving license (essential).
  • Proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Relevant fire safety qualifications (such as BAFE or equivalent) would be advantageous but are not essential.
