FPGA Engineer - Oxford - Hybrid - 50-90K DOEWere seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to join our clients team, focusing on developing cutting-edge hardware solutions across various applications, including cybersecurity, computing, communication, and high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all product lifecycle stages, from specifications to production.
  • Translate system requirements into detailed FPGA designs.
  • Create and optimize FPGA systems using RTL coding (VHDL/Verilog).
  • Collaborate on FPGA architecture with hardware/software teams.
  • Implement protocols like Ethernet, PCI, USB, UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Develop test benches and simulations for functional compliance.
  • Use debugging tools to optimize performance and power use.
  • Prepare clear documentation, including design specs and test plans.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • 5+ years in hardware design and debugging.
  • Proficient in HDL coding (VHDL/Verilog).
  • Strong grasp of RTL design, synthesis, and timing closure.
  • Experience with tools like Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, System Verilog, TCL scripting.
  • Knowledge of FPGA/SoC architectures (Xilinx, Intel, Microsemi).
  • Familiar with debugging tools like JTAG or logic analyzers.
  • C/C++ expertise for embedded systems.
  • Simulation tool experience (QuestaSim, ModelSim).
  • Adherence to industry-standard firmware design practices.
Preferred Skills:
  • Cryptography and anti-tamper experience.
  • Stochastic algorithm design expertise.
  • Optimized computing architecture design.
  • Experience with ASIC development.
