Location: Oxford
Contract Type: Contract (4 weeks, potential for extension)
Pay: £250 - £300 per day
Hours: 9 hours paid per day (Monday to Friday, with optional Saturdays)

The Opportunity:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join a reputable contractor on a short-term project in Oxford. You’ll oversee a range of groundworks and utilities tasks, ensuring the project runs smoothly, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the chance to work on a fast-paced site, with the potential for contract extension.

Key Responsibilities:
• Site Supervision:
o Oversee and manage the groundworks team, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards, safely, and on time.
o Monitor site activities and ensure adherence to project plans, schedules, and specifications.
• Team Leadership:
o Lead and motivate operatives and subcontractors, delegating tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
o Provide guidance and support to resolve on-site challenges as they arise.
• Quality Control:
o Conduct regular quality checks to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resource Management:
o Manage materials, machinery, and equipment efficiently to avoid delays.
o Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper handling and storage on-site.
• Communication & Reporting:
o Serve as the main point of contact between site teams and project managers.
o Keep accurate records of work progress, safety inspections, and any issues, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Problem Solving:
o Address unexpected challenges or delays proactively, implementing solutions to keep the project on track.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience:
o Proven experience as a Groundworks Foreman, ideally working for a groundworks and civil engineering contractor.
o Strong knowledge of drainage, kerbing, concrete works, and service installations.
• Skills:
o Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
o Strong organisational skills to manage daily operations effectively.
o Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with stakeholders.
• Qualifications:
o Valid CSCS card.
o SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
o First Aid certification is advantageous.
