Lead Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical)

Oxford, OX11 - Harwell

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

We're working for one of our biggest clients on a brand new contract win for them covering a contract for a well known American Pharmaceutical & Biotechnical company as an Lead Engineer. We're ideally looking to recruit someone with experience as a Supervisor or Lead Engineer looking to step up. This role is 50/50 on, off the tools so will need somebody from an M&E background.

We have worked with this business for many years as it has gone through re-brands and restructures within the business, founded in 2008 we have seen candidates consistently progress within this business across all it's varied opportunities across 48 countries and employing over 170,000 employees.

As the M&E Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of Mechanical & Electrical engineers. Your primary focus will be ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of the facility's systems, providing top-tier support to a crucial healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities for a Lead Engineer:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the M&E engineering team.
  • Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Coordinate with the facility management team to support the overall operation of the healthcare facility.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and report on system performance.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development opportunities to team members.

Experience/Qualifications required for an Lead Engineer:

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in M&E hard services, with a proven track record of leading a team of engineers on a commercial site.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
