Our Oxford based healthcare communications agency client is looking for a Medical Writer to develop science-based content for allocated projects/accounts, which meets the external and/or internal brief; provide scientific expertise to internal/external stakeholders; work in partnership with account team members both from account handling and others under the direction of the account lead. Ensure the successful delivery of all allocated projects and provide a solid foundation for ongoing business.
Responsibilities and duties
- Have an extensive and thorough scientific understanding and knowledge in the key therapy areas in which you support, including landscape, product, competitors and the suitable messaging to use in the disease area
- Generate robust, fair and balanced scientific content for review by account leads; some examples include, agendas, publications, slides, messaging, meeting materials
- Be able to translate the science with integrity, empathy and impact
- Distil complex science into clear, well-structured and meaningful communications
- Ensure communication and educational messages are relevant, actionable and demonstrate a positive impact on patient outcomes
- Input to strategic thinking, publication planning, scientific platform, narrative and lexicon development
- Build strong effective relationships with clients and thought leaders
- Comply with the medical writing processes, and client branding guidelines if appropriate
- Ensure the content meets the relevant compliance codes, e.g. ABPI, EFPIA
Teamwork
- Proactively communicate with team members regarding project status and tracking deadlines
- Communicate effectively with team members across the company in all departments and internal project team
- Conduct proactive and professional communication with clients, thought leaders and other external stakeholders

Qualifications and experience
- Ideally educated to graduate level, with a PhD/MSc and/or BSc in science
- Proven medical writing skills with at least two years’ experience
- Organised with excellent time-management skills
Office attendance will be mandatory for at least 2-days per week … more during probation.
