My client is a UK leading multi-disciplinary consultancy who, due to an exciting period of growth, are looking to recruit an experienced Associate Director to their dynamic Planning team!

The range of work on offer is wide and varied and will provide you with rich experience in town planning as you will aid and deliver on a broad range of planning applications including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, airports, retail, logistics and major infrastructure projects.

The Role

You will be delivering on a broad range of planning applications including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, airports, retail, logistics, major infrastructure projects and you will be helping to grow and develop business and provide mentorship to junior planners.

Duties

  • Developing new customer relationships and maintaining existing business.
  • Directing and mentoring junior planners.
  • Providing input into business plans and Chair Planning Meetings, influencing debate, and contributing to discussion on operational matters.
  • Preparing fee proposals and providing input into tender submissions.
  • Preparing representations to Local Plan consultations, appearing at Local Plan Examinations, and assisting with appeal co-ordination and statements of case.
  • Presiding over small/medium & large projects including coordinating team members, project finances, overseeing solutions in line with the customer's expectations and ensuring delivery is on time.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified MRTPI or in another relevant discipline.
  • Experience in large energy and infrastructure projects, including those requiring Environmental Impact Assessment, and those relating to Developments of National Significance and Development Control Orders.
  • Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and experience of delivering consultancy to a range of customers.
  • Have an established market reputation with a demonstrable record of winning sustainable and commercially viable projects.
  • Good financial and project management experience is essential.
  • Great influencing and communication techniques that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, customers, and external bodies.
