Our client, a renowned player in the Motorsport sector, is currently seeking a skilled Facilities Manager on a contract basis. This critical role, reporting to the Team Principal or their designee, involves managing services and processes that support the core business operations, including Known Consignor compliance, Operator's Licence compliance, and security.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure best practices are followed for maximum efficiency and that the most suitable working environment is attained for its employees and their activities.
  • Guarantee that the organisation meets the necessary legislative obligations and drive the continuous improvement of health and safety throughout your business.
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of health and safety policies and practices to make sure all staff are adhering to these standards.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance at a Manager level on all matters of legal compliance regarding Health and Safety Management.
  • Mentor, train and guide personnel as required.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Responsible for establishing standard operating procedures and budget to maintain a practical yet functional department including building maintenance, other processes in relation to the management of the workshop and Health and Safety compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Team Principal or their designee.

Key Responsibilities:

Workshop Management

  • Maintenance of facility, grounds, all tools, equipment, fixings, PPE and similar goods within budget.
  • Ensure Team is compliant with all regulatory requirements for international shipments, including the Organisation's Known Consignor status.
  • Responsible for the application, maintenance and upkeep of the sustainability and environmental practices in line with the ISO:14001 accreditation.
  • Ensure compliance with the conditions of the company's Operators Licence
  • Oversee ad hoc facility projects as assigned.
  • Oversee management of non-HGV vehicles.
  • Project manage, supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, including cleaning and security services.
  • Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives
  • Manage and lead change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
  • Direct, coordinate and plan essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, archiving, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling
  • Ensure the team meet health and safety requirements and that facilities comply with legislation, Keeping all employees safe.
  • Plan best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for current or new buildings, or re-organising of current premises including parking.
  • Check that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and follow up on any deficiencies
  • Coordinate and lead one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure a safe working environment by establishing, documenting and leading Health and Safety policies, committee, systems and procedures with Management guidance that comply with legislation.
  • Oversee day to day duties including organizing; fire drills, risk assessments, electrical safety, VDU safety, safe carrying of loads, COSSH and other duties as laid out in the H&S Policy.
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout your organisation
  • Developing health and safety management systems including quality assurance systems and compliance with external audits
  • Managing and co-ordinating audits, including liaising with external contractors
  • Supporting and developing the health, safety environmental strategy
  • Developing internal and external networks to allow performance to be benchmarked
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and incorporate any updates in law into the health and safety policy
  • Business risk analysis and risk assessments
  • Reducing the number of health and safety incidents to a minimum
  • Ensure that the facility, equipment and substances used are suitable for the task and are kept in good working condition; this includes the regular maintenance and servicing of equipment.
  • Oversee weekly and quarterly inspection tours of the workshop premises.
  • Take immediate and appropriate steps to investigate and rectify any risks to health and safety arising from work activity or inspection tours
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
