We are currently recruiting for a Plant Manager, on a permanent basis, to work within our Quality Management team, based on-site at one of our most remarkable Automotive OEM Clients.
Reporting to the UK Operations Manager, the Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall management of our Quality Department within the Plant. You will be seen as the natural escalation for issues and new business and will support the business in all output of data, reports and compliance. You will also ensure your team are working accurately and efficiently at all times.
This role is based on a 40 hour working week and typically falls across a day shift:
- Monday - Thursday - 07:00am - 16:00pm
- Friday - 06:00am - 14:00pm
Please note, this is subject to demand, and you will need to be flexible as and when required. A night shift also runs over the weekend, this is managed by a Shift Manager, however you do need to be available for calls should they require your support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing day-to-day activities, ensuring customer expectations are met in a safe and efficient manager.
- Overseeing continuous improvement and development
- Identifying opportunities for business development
- Supporting with 8D problem solving and presenting findings back to the customer.
- Maximising efficiency on-site at all times
- Assuring the achievement of performance standards through routine auditing
- Assessing performance measures and setting KPI's.
- Resolving suspended & disputed invoices
- Carrying out general reporting of the Plant and presenting to the board.
- Executing appraisals with the team and providing regular feedback
- Planning for resource during peak times
- Supporting Shift Managers with general training, holidays, absence etc
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Strong, 'hands on', leadership skills gained ideally within Automotive, Manufacturing, Quality or Engineering environments.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to resolve issues promptly, within a professional manner.
- Flexible attitude towards work and a strong desire for development
- Organised, resilient, with the ability to think outside the box.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence to up-sell on new business and recommend our services further
- SAP experience is desirable but not essential
This is a permanent position with progression opportunities available.
