Mechanical Maintenance & Service Engineer

Location: Oxford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: £20+ per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance & Service Engineer to join our team in Oxford. This role involves maintaining mechanical systems, including pumps, AHUs, and water systems, ensuring compliance with L8 regulations, and carrying out general building maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Perform scheduled maintenance tasks in line with specifications, logging all work in real time using a PDA.
  • Reactive & Breakdown Maintenance: Quickly diagnose and repair faults, ensuring minimal downtime and updating the CAFM system with details of completed work.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Complete all relevant paperwork and e-forms for PPM, reactive, and breakdown tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Client Communication: Update the customer's CAFM system in real time, providing detailed descriptions of work undertaken and identifying any required follow-up actions.
  • Health & Safety: Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) before starting tasks and report any safety concerns via the AIMS system.
  • Parts & Inventory Management: Ensure necessary spare parts are available and provide parts lists and time estimates for remedial work.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, including pumps, AHUs, and water systems.
  • Knowledge of L8 compliance and general building maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience using CAFM systems for logging maintenance tasks.
  • A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.
