The role involves leading the full design lifecycle for bespoke machinery and requires 5+ years of experience.

Candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience with 3D CAD PTC CREO, and knowledge of mechanical principles.

Due to continuing expansion, this reputable engineering firm are looking to grow their engineering team in 2025. As part of this growth, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the full design lifecycle.

The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will operate in multi-functional project teams and be tasked with leading cutting-edge machinery design projects. Key duties include client liaison, concept design, 3D / 2D CAD, calculations, test & validation and overseeing your work into build and commissioning.

The company design a highly bespoke range of machinery incorporating complex assemblies, frames, precision components, rotating parts, gearboxes, drives, bearings, seals, instrumentation etc. Each project is both different and highly interesting. They also have an excellent benefits package and career development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with sound knowledge of mechanical 1st principles and some experience leading projects.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer requirements

Degree level in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
3D CAD PTC CREO (or similar)
Experience in a similar position designing special purpose machinery (or similar)
GD&T
Sound knowledge of 1st principles, hand calculations & simulations (FEA)
