Test and Validation Engineer- FTC 12 months- review to be extended or permanent Location: Kidlington, Hybrid working Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer—test and Validation—to join the Mechanical Systems and test department within a fast-growing organization. In this key role, you will report to the Principal Engineer for Mechanical Test and Validation and support multiple projects. Responsibilities will include coordinating test and development activities, test preparation, planning, logistics, and support across the heavy industry and mobility sectors, focusing on power conversion, batteries, modules, and energy storage. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior or Principal Engineers on various projects.
  • Identify preferred test facilities and locations.
  • Develop test equipment and rigs for efficient testing.
  • Manage test preparation, instrumentation, supplier planning, and logistics.
  • Oversee systems preparation and commissioning of hardware at test locations.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Systems and Software teams as needed.
  • Review Design Verification Plans and create test plans in collaboration with PMs and Systems Engineering.
  • Manage instrumentation, data recording, and analysis.
  • Engage with global test facilities and coordinate global testing.
  • Collaborate with procurement and workshops to track facility plans.
  • Travel to Australia and the US as required.

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with approximately five years of experience in a relevant industry.
  • Proven Test & Validation experience.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD and PML software (preferably NX and Teamcenter).
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach, comfortable with practical tasks like test rig assembly.
  • Ability to work under challenging schedules.
  • Desirable: Experience in data acquisition and analysis, with strong presentation skills.
