Rullion are looking to Recruit for the Following Role :

Role :Cryostat Engineer/ Vacuum Engineer

Location : Oxford, UK

Start date : September 2024

Duration : 6 Months

Inside IR35

Rate : TBD

Hybrid - 4 days a week on site.

Role:

Working in a mid-high vacuum domain (1mbar - 10-8mbar) in the field of MRI medical scanners. This role specifically focuses on the root cause analysis of vacuum degradation.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead the project with guidance from key experts in the field. This hands-on work will involve the design and execution of experiments to analyse materials and systems in an offline environment.

Technical Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (Physics/Engineering) or relevant experience in the field.
  • Practical experience of pumping and use of vacuum chambers
  • Fault finding in structured way.
  • Use of Residual Gas Analysers (RGAs)
  • Experimental design
  • Technical report writing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Independent working
  • Project ownership

Technical Desirables:

  • Understanding of material outgassing
  • Understanding of material permeation
  • Effects of surface chemistry
  • Material science background
  • Working in regulated environment
