An excellent opportunity is available for a Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and fast-paced acute medicine team in Oxford. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services in an acute hospital environment. The position is full-time, with the option for part-time hours, and the successful candidate can start as soon as possible.
Position Details:
- Role: Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist
- Location: Oxford, Acute Medicine Department
- Hours: Full-time (open to part-time applicants)
- Hourly Rate: Up to £30 per hour
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients within the acute medicine setting to identify occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving functional independence, recovery, and overall well-being.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to provide holistic patient care.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and staff on occupational therapy interventions, safety strategies, and long-term care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and ongoing care.
Essential Criteria:
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in acute medicine or a similar clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working within a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working in an acute hospital or acute medicine department.
- Post-graduate training or qualifications in relevant areas of occupational therapy.
