Ashley Kate are thrilled to be working with our client who are a top 50 accountancy firm with offices across South and Central England. This role can be based at the Oxford, London, Farnham, Northampton or Guilford office as they have ambitious plans to expand their business. A new opportunity for a Group Compliance Manager to join the Compliance team on a full-time or part-time role with hybrid and flexible working options. This role will involve travel to a few offices within the Group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with M&A, Integration & Compliance Director to develop and roll-out a company-wide Compliance and Risk strategy
  • Assist in ensuring that a risk and compliance culture is embedded, by facilitating and organisation training and communication on compliance matters.
  • Preparation of regulatory applications to ACCA/ICAEW or other regulatory bodies for all new acquisitions e.g. Audit, AML, DBP
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting to the M&A, Integration and Compliance Director with regards to compliance findings and breaches
  • Either directly or in coordination with the M&A, Integration and Compliance Director provide advice and guidance to partners, managers and employees on compliance related queries
  • Build collaborative relationships to ensure all regulatory compliance risks are managed and reported in an effective and timely manner
  • Responsible for updating all regulatory policies on a timely basis following requests from key relations in the firm and following direction from M&A, Integration and Compliance Director.
  • Update firmwide risk assessment and policies and procedures on a timely basis following requests from key relations in the firm and following direction from M&A, Integration and Compliance Director
  • Responsible for updating all reference templates used for client onboarding solution e.g. engagement/disengagement letters with regulatory updates on a timely basis.
  • Put in place a procedure for identifying all potential conflicts (e.g. audits). Co-ordinate any assessment and identification of the conflicts and work with the team to resolve such conflicts. This may mean declining work or ensuring adequate safeguards are in place.
  • Assist in maintaining the relationships with professional bodies, including ACCA, and ICAEW. Work with M&A, Integration and Compliance Director to ensure that we always remain compliant with their rules and regulations.
  • Draft new regulatory guidelines for the company and assist with the implementation of new regulatory requirements
  • Actively be involved in Group project work representing Compliance to ensure best industry practice for regulatory compliance is embedded in to business development and process changes.

About you:

·Minimum of 3-4 years post-qualified UK experience gained within a practice environment or in a regulatory team at a regulatory body (e.g. ICAEW, ICAS or ACCA).

·Ideally you will be ACCA or ICAEW qualified. The role will manage all strategic, operational and regulatory risks.

·The successful candidate will have a background in and understanding of risk & compliance in the accounting industry as well as:

  • A positive and confident self-starter, who understands the importance of maintaining positive client relationships as well as internal collaboration
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with an ability to work with a variety of stakeholders at any time
  • Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrating an organised approach to work; an ability to prioritise and meet tight timeframes with high quality output
  • A commercial approach and natural ability to convey credibility
  • A flair for building rapport at a senior level, and display good communication/negotiation skills alongside strong problem-solving abilities
  • A UK driving licence to meet the need to be able to travel to all the offices
