A welcoming and inclusive school in Oxford is looking for a dedicated Behavioural/Therapeutic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is perfect for a candidate passionate about supporting Reception - Year 6 children who have experienced trauma and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to children with behavioural and learning challenges.
- Adapt teaching strategies for children with specific learning needs, including slow processing speeds.
- Use trauma-informed practices to support students' emotional well-being.
- Create and implement lesson plans tailored to individual literacy levels, using Sounds-Write phonics techniques.
- Maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement support strategies.
- Provide empathetic emotional support and assist with coping strategies.
Behavioural/Therapeutic Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role or relevant Level 2/3/4 qualification.
- Proven experience supporting EYFS/KS1/KS2 children with behavioural and sensory needs.
- A degree level education (preferred).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt under pressure and manage challenging behaviours.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (preferred).
Location:
Based in Oxford, easily commutable from surrounding areas like Oxford, Didcot, Wantage, and Faringdon.
