Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to children with behavioural and learning challenges.
  • Adapt teaching strategies for children with specific learning needs, including slow processing speeds.
  • Use trauma-informed practices to support students' emotional well-being.
  • Create and implement lesson plans tailored to individual literacy levels, using Sounds-Write phonics techniques.
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to develop and implement support strategies.
  • Provide empathetic emotional support and assist with coping strategies.

Behavioural/Therapeutic Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role or relevant Level 2/3/4 qualification.
  • Proven experience supporting EYFS/KS1/KS2 children with behavioural and sensory needs.
  • A degree level education (preferred).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt under pressure and manage challenging behaviours.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (preferred).

Location:
Based in Oxford, easily commutable from surrounding areas like Oxford, Didcot, Wantage, and Faringdon.
