We are urgently recruiting on behalf of our client in the Oxford area for 3 Infrastructure Project Managers. These are full time roles with a hybrid option and run for a 6 month period.

Job Purpose

To proactively manage and deliver high-quality projects that achieve best value for money and align with commercial targets. This role encompasses project leadership, stakeholder engagement, budget management, and specialist expertise within designated service areas such as drainage, trees, or bridges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the successful delivery of individual schemes and projects within the specialist service area.

  • Act as the subject matter expert in your field or liaise with external specialists as required.

  • Manage or coordinate staff across different geographic locations to ensure collaborative delivery of shared outcomes.

  • Assume responsibility for selected budgets, ensuring they are managed in accordance with council policies and procedures.

  • Promote and maintain strong, effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, senior council leaders, politicians, and operational teams.

  • Manage own workload and oversee resource allocation to meet service delivery goals.

  • Champion a customer-focused approach within the service, ensuring communications are clear, accessible, and jargon-free.

  • Facilitate effective communication and engagement with residents, communities, other local authorities, and stakeholders.

  • Provide accurate data and input for performance monitoring and reporting.

  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation and best practices, incorporating relevant initiatives into service development.

  • Maintain a valid driving license and access to a vehicle for business use or demonstrate an effective alternative method for travel throughout the county.

  • Adhere to the councils corporate values and competency framework.

  • Perform any other duties as required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

Person Specification
  • Proven track record in delivering projects within a specialist area (e.g., infrastructure, environmental, or technical services).

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.

  • Budget management experience in a public or commercial sector.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and customer service excellence.

  • Flexibility to travel across the county as needed.
