What the role as a Behaviour Support Assistant entails:

The school hiring are looking for an individual to come in and support their students to make good choices throughout the school day. They are also looking for an individual to come in and support their students to process their emotions in a healthy way. This will support them and thus reduce their challenging behaviour.

Many of the students at this school have trauma which in turn causes stress, anxiety, depression and other learning difficulties. You will help with ensuring the students feel safe and comfortable while also supporting them through their school work

Your day to day as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

Your day to day as a Behaviour Support Worker will be busy. You will mostly work alongside the classroom and focus on supporting the students with their academic objectives. Additionally you will support and reinforce their positive behaviour along with support and encourage positive behaviour and help students who have trouble processing their emotions. You will also help with facilitating a safe and engaging learning environment for students to learn effectively.

The Successful Behaviour Support Assistant:

  • You will have some experience working with children
  • You will be confident managing behaviour
  • You will be passionate about education and helping children with their academic goals
  • You must understand the importance of safeguarding
  • You will be positive, enthusiastic and proactive

This is really a great role for individuals who are looking to get some experience working with children who have a hard time with their emotions and school work.

Graduates are welcome to apply as well as those with a background in sports, music, art or drama.
