• A really rewarding position has become available for a Mental Health Support Worker to work in a school in Oxford.
• This is an excellent position to gain really valuable experience whilst also making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children. A really fulfilling opportunity!
• These students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other mood disorders.
• These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow.
• The students are between the ages of 2 and 19, so you would have the opportunity to work with students of all ages and backgrounds!
• This can making learning really difficult, this is where you would come in.
• As a mental health assistant you will directly be involved in helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health.
• You will be helping to make learning fun and engaging whilst also ensuring that learning is becoming concrete.
• Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, whilst providing 1:1 support for the SEN students.
• You will also help run exciting lessons to ensure the classroom is a fun and exciting place. Behavioural management may also be required.
• The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs.
• This is a great opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists and counsellors.

Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in sports, art or drama will also be at an advantage. Graduates in a relevant field will also be considered.
