Aspiring Psychologist - Oxford

  • An excellent role has recently become available to support students who struggle with learning difficulties in the classroom!
  • This highly regarded specialist school look after students between the ages of 2 and 19 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism and other learning difficulties and needs.
  • Your role will be to mainly support learners while incorporating therapy and their curriculum.
  • You will ensure that they are reaching all their goals both academically and personally, ensuring that they are reaching all the necessary age-appropriate milestones!
  • Your role as a mental health support assistant will also include providing general classroom support to the class teacher.
  • These duties will include helping manage general classroom behaviour, help with lesson preparation, help keep the class tidy and listen to the students read and practice their phonics.
  • The successful Mental Health Support Assistant will be calm and compassionate but also confident.
  • You will take initiative well and be able to adapt your approach to match the needs of the children. Some children in the class will need extra support.
  • Some may have learning difficulties and need help to stay on track with their tasks.
  • Experience working with children will be beneficial, but not essential. Personality is most important. If you are confident and bubbly then this school wants to hear from you!
