Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading global Chemicals business that has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to be responsible for managing their EMEA transportation and storage contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate the best possible commercial conditions for the business, in collaboration with internal l clients, including Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
• Construct bid templates in Procurement e-bidding tools to support regular bidding activities (RFI & RFP)
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and identify new suppliers
• Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, and review cost reduction activities
• Ensure price / rate / route accuracy in Transportation Management System (TMS) and SAP

Candidate Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification
• Buying, Procurement, Supplier Negotiation and Contract Management experience
• Logistics or Transport category experience will be advantageous
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with cross-functional colleagues and external parties.
• Proficiency in SAP and analytical tools/reporting software, familiarity with TMS would be an advantage
