Job Title: Category Buyer
Location: Oxford
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 p.a.
Type: Permanent, Full-time, Hybrid (3 days/week in the office)
We are seeking a Category Buyer to manage procurement activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services to support R&D, production, supply chain, and field maintenance. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and involves managing supplier relationships, monitoring orders, and addressing risks.
Key Responsibilities- Source and purchase items/services for production, R&D, and supply chain needs.
- Place and manage purchase orders using the ERP system, ensure on-time delivery, and address supplier issues.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and resolve quality issues.
- Identify and escalate supply issues impacting production schedules.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support cost reduction and enhance procurement processes.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience in supplier negotiation and managing supply chain risks.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to analyse data and produce reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.
- CIPS qualification is desired
- Similar experience in a buyer or purchasing role
