Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Salary: 65,000 - 67,500 per annum

The Role

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services for our care home construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for construction materials and subcontract services
* Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to drive best value and quality
* Work closely with project teams to forecast material requirements and mitigate supply chain risks
* Monitor budgets, contracts, and supplier performance, ensuring compliance with company policies
* Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
* Stay up to date with market trends, legislation, and sustainability initiatives in construction procurement

What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager within the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of materials procurement, supplier negotiation, and contract management
* Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, project managers, and stakeholders
* Excellent commercial awareness and cost control skills
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
* CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
