We are hiring on behalf of our client for anexperienced Quantity Surveyorto manage the commercial aspects ofutility and civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can ensure cost control, contract compliance, and strong financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations
- Oversee subcontractor accounts, including valuations and variations
- Administer contracts and ensure compliance with best practices
- Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and reconciliations
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
- Negotiate and agree on final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Support tender preparation and contract claims
- Work closely with project managers and finance teams to meet financial objectives
Key Requirements:
- Experience in utilities, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors
- Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or similar contracts
- Proficiency in cost reporting and commercial management
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience with major utility providers or tier 1 contractors
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry standards
