We are hiring on behalf of our client for anexperienced Quantity Surveyorto manage the commercial aspects ofutility and civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can ensure cost control, contract compliance, and strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts, including valuations and variations
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with best practices
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and reconciliations
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Negotiate and agree on final accounts with clients and subcontractors
  • Support tender preparation and contract claims
  • Work closely with project managers and finance teams to meet financial objectives

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in utilities, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or similar contracts
  • Proficiency in cost reporting and commercial management
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with major utility providers or tier 1 contractors
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry standards
