An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Shift Manager to join the logistics department of a leading transport and distribution company. The role requires managing the smooth operations of the transport department, ensuring timely and efficient distribution of goods. You will be working on a weekly rotating AM and PM shift pattern and be responsible for a weekend on call rota once every 3 weeks.
Description
The Transport Shift Manager will be responsible for the below:
- Overseeing the smooth running of the transport department during assigned shifts.
- Ensuring timely dispatch and delivery of goods.
- Managing a team of drivers and logistical staff.
- Maintaining compliance with transportation rules and regulations.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure efficient operations.
- Implementing strategies for operational improvement.
- Addressing any transportation and logistics issues promptly.
- Maintaining accurate records of transport activities.
Profile
A successful Transport Shift Manager should have:
- Proven experience in transport management or a similar role.
- Experience in managing drivers and fleet of vehicles
- Strong understanding of transport regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
