My client are at the forefront of the UK's energy transition, they specialize in delivering renewable energy solutions, including flexible power generation and battery storage assets. As a business development manager you will have the chance to take a high performing internal software tool and make it a market leader. Their software will allow their clients to optimize and manage renewable energy assets, they now want to take this to market and are looking for a business development manager with experience selling renewable energy SaaS products to B2B customers

My client are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead the market introduction of their new renewable energy Software as a Service (SaaS) products. In this role, you will be the first hire within the team and will be responsible development a business development & sales strategy, identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities within the energy and technology sectors, driving growth, and establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Expansion: Identify, develop, and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our customer base for renewable energy SaaS solutions.
Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, partners, and industry influencers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business development plans to achieve sales targets and support the company's growth objectives.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, customer demands, and competitor activities, providing insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and deliver exceptional value to clients.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in business development and sales within the renewable energy SaaS sector.
Strong understanding of the renewable energy SaaS industry, including trends in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy efficiency solutions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
