Secondary Cover Supervisor
Are you a teacher looking flexible working during term-time?
Do you have Secondary classroom experience and available for Cover Supervising?
REED Education are supporting various secondary schools across the area, who are looking to appoint Cover Supervisors to support their students in absence of their regular Teacher. Hours range from Monday to Friday and typically 8:30am – 15:30pm.
Can you explain difficult things in a simple way? Do you have the patience, creativity, and communication skills to encourage learners of all ability levels to flourish?
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to develop their future career as a teacher or perhaps a Teaching professional looking to achieve a better work life balance.
An outline of a typical day for Cover Supervisor will involve:
- To carry out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are absent from the classroom (normally the absent teacher will have left some notes for you to follow and deliver to the class)
- You will manage the classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set
- You will NOT teach any form of lesson but will leave handover notes for when the class teacher returns.
- You will cover lessons of all subjects
Although you do not require any specific qualifications to be a Cover Supervisor, you do need transferable skills, such as: good written and communication skills, the ability to form strong relationships, patience and excellent organisation.
