We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Maths Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality maths education tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students, fostering both their academic and personal growth.

This SEN school caters for a wide range of special educational needs, including the following diagnosed or described conditions:

  • Attachment Difficulty
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder, including Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Dyspraxia
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Specific Learning Difficulties, i.e. Dyslexia
  • Speech and Language Disorder
  • Tourette's Syndrome

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff members.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support students’ learning and development.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 
  • Experience teaching maths at the secondary level, preferably within a SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of students with SEN, particularly those listed above.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the educational and emotional well-being of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
