Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)Location: OxfordStart Date: Immediate or ASAP

Dunbar Education is seeking dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join our team and contribute to the success of secondary schools across Oxford.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, deliver engaging and effective lessons to small groups or whole classes in the absence of the teacher.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, including those with special educational needs, as part of your Higher Level Teaching Assistant duties.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of lessons, ensuring resources are ready and accessible for the classroom teacher and the Higher Level Teaching Assistant team.
  • Foster a positive learning environment conducive to student success and personal growth as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as part of your role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
  • Support classroom teachers in maintaining discipline and ensuring the safety and well-being of students in your capacity as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of UK education-based experience.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (desirable).
  • Valid safeguarding certification (desirable).
  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational development in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.
