Role:          Family Worker (Substance Misuse)

Location:    Banbury

Salary:        £16 - £19 phr UMB (FTE salary £25,250 - £30,000)

Hours:        35 hours

Duration:    Temp/Temp - Perm

 

Synopsis of duties:

  • To support children 8  18 who are affected by parental substance misuse or supporting parents/guardians who are affected by their child's substance misuse.
  • To carry a combined caseload of both complex young people and their families across targeted areas of Oxfordshire (North) 
  • Working in a trauma informed approach, providing specialist assessment, care planning and interventions around drugs and alcohol use.
  • Deliver evidence based psychosocial and educational interventions to children and families, taking a whole family approach to the problem of parental substance use across Oxfordshire
  • To engage with young people and their families in various settings such as children’s centres, drop-in, schools, colleges, and homes and to provide assessment, advice and guidance from designated settings across Oxfordshire.
  • Support families to achieve outcomes including improvement in family dynamics, resilience, and communication.
  • Contribute to the service’s whole family trauma informed practice and psychologically informed environments

Requirements

  • Experience of client work with children and young people, families and drug / alcohol users.
  • Experience of using strengths based assessment tools and the delivery of a range of therapeutic skills and interventions to facilitate behaviour change.
  • Experience of completing and reviewing support plans
  • Experience of group facilitation
  • Experience working as a part of a multi-agency framework
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
  • Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
